Group Statement:

Due to strong interest, KWG is opening a Second Creative Nonfiction Writing Group!  This group is being organized by Meg Gill, who leads the original group.

We are creative nonfiction writers who write regularly. Our work may take the form of memoir, essay, or reportage, but whatever its shape, our stories are rooted in fact and in real-life experiences and events. We may embellish or even riff on reality, but we trade in truth.

Our aim is to meet once a month to exchange opinions and edits of one another’s work, and to discuss the field in general. New applicants should either:  1) already write and read creative nonfiction; or 2) be avid readers of creative nonfiction who are willing to critique the writers and to attend meetings regularly.

Applicants should be dues-paying members of the Knoxville Writers Guild (KWG).  Please send inquiries to Meg Gill at meg.sniderman@gmail.com, including a sample of your work (1-10 pages), as well as a short statement about yourself and what you hope to gain from this group.
