Expired Open Mic & Pot Luck

Don’t miss the KWG’s annual edible pot luck. Bring a dish to share and a piece to read.

Show up early to be on the reading docket. Readings at the Open Mic are limited to three minutes, no exceptions. This translates to two paragraphs of double-spaced prose, or one poem of less than 45 lines. Laura Still, current KWG president and resident Scrooge, will act as official timekeeper. The Open Mic is for members only. Not a member? Join on the spot and put your work out there.

The December Open Mike and Potluck is a KWG tradition, but this year we’ve added a chance to win $50! The prize will be awarded for bringing the best party dish with a book-related theme or literary allusion. Think Farewell Crumpets With Mr. Chips, Jane Austen Appetizers, or Harry Potter Pretzel Broomsticks. The contest will be judged by board members and food enthusiasts Victoria Raschke and Cindy Robinson Moffett. To enter, make a donation at the Welcome Table to receive a ticket and a card to label your entry. So pick your favorite authors or fictional characters, and create a finger food in their honor. You might win extra cash for the holidays!
