John Adams became sports columnist at the Knoxville News Sentinel in 1987. Sportswriter of the Year in three states, Louisiana native John Adams has been named best sports columnist in Tennessee 30 times by the Tennessee Sportswriters Association. He began writing for publication at age 15 and has since won more than 160 writing awards.
