2026 Poetry Contest

Declaration: I Am Tennessee

SUBMISSION CLOSES MARCH 10

The Knoxville Writers Guild is proud to have received a TN250 grant to fund the Declaration: I Am Tennessee project as part of the nationwide 250th U.S. celebration. The project allows Knox County residents to express how Tennessee has shaped them in poems and prose. KWG is partnering with the East Tennessee Historical Society for a launch on July 16 and readings/performances throughout the year.

This project is funded under an agreement with the State of Tennessee administered by the Tennessee Commission for the United States Semiquincentennial.
