Writing groups offer support, encouragement, constructive critiques, and community in the often lonely business of writing. They vary in genre, size, frequency of meetings, and organization. Some allow drop-ins. Others have a selection process. To join a group, you must be a KWG member. If you are a member, and don’t see a group that meets your needs, consider starting one! To do this, speak to a KWG board member and follow these best practices.
Fiction and More Group
Participants in this group are generally prose writers who present short fiction, essays, or installments from book-length manuscripts (fiction or creative non-fiction/memoir) to one another for review.
Prompt Writing Group
This is a fun group to overcome the blank page with timed writing prompts. And we share what we wrote if we want to.
Science Fiction and Fantasy Writing Group
To offer support, guidance, and educational opportunities for short story and novel writers in the science fiction and fantasy genres.
Pre-Pulitzer Writers
To encourage and critique fiction and nonfiction prose writing via monthly meetings and email submission of manuscripts.
