The Knoxville Writers’ Guild is pleased to introduce David Neil Drews, its new publicist and web content coordinator. Filmmaking, fiction writing and marketing for musicians and concerts are among his skills.

A graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with degrees in Finance, English Literature, and English Education, Drews has a career background in finance, the communication arts, and education.

Drews taught creative writing and English at Vine Middle School and West High School. He also designed and taught Tennessee’s only high school filmmaking curriculum while at West. He also created and taught a communication arts summer program called Media High for the Knox County Public Library.

Drews has also worked in corporate and real estate banking. He served on the board of the nonprofit radio station WDVX for nine years, two years as president, and has written radio copy for the station. Today, he writes fiction and is an active KWG member.

“Discovering fresh approaches to utilizing established publicity channels is essential to KWG’s mission-guided development.  I am also interested in helping the guild explore novel methods and pathways to raise its public visibility and appeal,” Drews said.

“We are delighted to welcome David as publicist and web content coordinator,” said Donna Kapa, KWG president. He will begin July 1.
